When We Are Closed

Outside of our normal hours if you require medical help call 111. You can contact them Monday to Friday between 18:30 - 08:00 and at weekends and bank holidays.

You should use the NHS 111 service if:

• You need medical help fast, but its not a 999 emergency;
• You think you need to go to A&E or another NHS urgent care service;
• You dont know who to call for medical help or you dont have a GP to call; or
• You require health information or reassuance about what to do next.

For less urgent health needs, you should still contact your GP or local pharmacist in the ususal way.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.  

The Black Country Hub Extended Hours Service

The Black Country Hub will be based at Portway Family Practice

Please see below the opening times and days.

Monday to Friday - 6:30pm - 8:00pm 

Saturday 9:00am - 17:00pm

Portway Family Practice is now closed over the Christmas period from Friday 25^th December – Monday 28^th December.

If you have a life-threatening emergency, then please hang up and dial 999.

If you have a medical condition that cannot wait until your surgery re-opens on Tuesday 29^th December, you may call the extended hours on 0121 612 3429 for a telephone consultation on the following days and times:

Thursday 24^th December 6:30 – 8:00pm

Friday 25^th December: 8:00am – 11:00am

Saturday 26th and Sunday 27^th December: 8:00am – 12:30pm

Monday 28^th December: 8:00 – 11:00am

At all other times please hang up and call NHS 111.

The surgery will re-open on Tuesday 29^th December at 8:00am
